Dave Woods

Music has been a part of Dave Woods’ life since his childhood in New Orleans, Louisiana. He started in radio during high school years, about the same time he began to play drums in various bands that you’ve probably never heard of like Gold, Blu Steel, and Down South. Eventually he landed with a band in Los Angeles called The Realm while his wife Christee worked in the country music division at Radio and Recordsmagazine and at Universal Studios.

Dave also pursued a love of acting doing theater and TV commercials. But it was while he was at Fox 97 radio in Atlanta that he studied with Chuck Lawlor which led to himconstantly irritating friends and family by pointing himself out in the background on episodes of “In the Heat of the Night” and in the Paul Newman movie “Blaze”. Among his other creative pursuits Dave is also an accomplished writer, having published three books of poetry. He recently received a Pushcart Nomination for one of his works in numerous literary publications.

Dave has a degree in Architecture and worked in that field for some years while continuing to do voiceover work. He also studied Taekwondo and taught self-defense classes for women. Today Dave does voiceovers for TV, radio, movies, video games, talking gas pumps, or anything else that needs a voice. For fun he enjoys reading, fishing, being bitten by his rescue Cockatoo Suzee, cuddling with his rescue dog Cricket and five rescue cats, and cruising the highways in his Jeep with his rescue wife. He also enjoysconnecting with other fans of Hot Country at davewoods@audilous.com and playing the best country music on Dirt Road Radio 96.9!
