Gina Jameson

What's up!! My name is Gina Jameson and I live in a small town in Southern Idaho. I'm a Gen X'er to the core just trying to make my way in today's crazy world. I grew up in the 80's and was always listening to our local radio stations, which was when I decided that I wanted to be a dj playing music and chatting with listeners. And look at me now, living the perpetual dream of the broke DJ life, but I love it and wouldn't change it for anything after 20 plus years in the industry.

When I'm not playing music, you'll find me hanging out with my family and our animals. We're into classic cars and car shows, and you'll often find me at our auto body shop sanding away and fixing stuff with my hubby.

I'm also big into live music and concerts and have been to at least 200+ shows in my life and will continue to check out bands at live venues whenever I have the opportunity. Because.. lets face it.. Music is LIFE!!!

1. Who is your hero?    My hero is my step-dad. He is the epitome of a southern gentleman.  Says what he means and means what he says. Honest, receptible and stepped up to the plate to be a father figure to me when he didn't have to.

2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?    Northern Idaho, maybe my hometown of Elk River. Its at the end of Idaho State Highway 8, you go to it, not through it.  Its secluded in a small valley surrounded by mountains and trees. I miss it so much!

3. What is your biggest fear?         Heights. Seriously. Even thinking about it makes my feet feel like jello.

4. What really makes you angry?      People who tell lies and can't own up to their mistakes.  I mean really, what's the point?

5. What motivates you to work hard?         Self-reliance and wanting to do a job in the best way possible.

6. What is your favorite thing about being on the radio?       I think my most favorite thing about being in radio is being able to put a smile on someone's face. To lift their spirits up just by being there, and being real. I don't know how many times I've received a random call from a lister who told me that they were having a super bad day, and something I said turned their day around and made them smile or laugh.  You never know what someone is going through, so putting out some positive rays of sunshine through the mic is the best!

7. What makes you laugh the most?      Funny animal videos. I'm a big animal fanatic and love watching their antics.

8. What are your favorite movies?      Ok, I'm a geek. I'm a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan. I have all the movies, the extended director cuts, the audio books and even the Hobbit vinyl records from the 70's that our parents use to put us to sleep with.  Also, I love Joe Dirt and Talladega Nights.

9. What did you want to be when you were a kid?      HA!  Well, I wanted to be a media lawyer when I was growing up. (Missed my calling there as I'd be rolling in the green backs.)  Then my sophomore year in high school I started listening to the radio A LOT, because there was nothing else to do in Elk River, and that's when I thought it would be cool to be a DJ because you get to talk to people and play cool music.

10. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?       Honestly, drive the Miss Budweiser Unlimited Hydroplane. I raced the mini-outboard hydro's in high school and I was a HUGE fan of Chip Hanauer.  So, if I could be her driver for a day, sign me up!!!

11. What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?      Basketball, love to watch it. The Celtics are my team!  However, I suck at playing it.

12. Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car?      No question, drive a car. Preferably an old school muscle car.

13. What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most?      Active rock and classic rock.

14. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?      Hawaiian chicken the way my mom makes it.

15. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?      Not really, some call me "G", for obvious reasons.

16. If money was no object, what would you do all day?      Travel, redecorate the house, play loud music.

17. What are your hobbies?       Working on my cars (I own 7) the oldest being a 1969 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. I also like to collect vintage records and vintage kitchenware.

18. List two pet peeves.       People who don't do what they say their going to do. Paying bills.

19. Where do you see yourself in five years?       Probably doing the same thing I'm doing now.  Working in radio, doing voice overs and playing with classic cars.

20. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?       Ooooo.. tough one. Hmmm.... being able to fix what's broken.  Speaking to animals!

21. What would you do if you won the lottery?        HAHAHA!  Probably the same thing everyone else would do.  Payoff bills, and my house. Make sure to invest so myself and my kids would never have to work again.  And maybe buy a radio station just so I would have something to do.

22. If you could eat a meal with any 4 people, living or dead, who would they be?      My best friend Stephanie, John F Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe and Hulk Hogan.

23. How many pillows do you sleep with?       Three
